Natalie Pace

Director of Assay Development

Natalie is excited to be part of the interdisciplinary, imaginative, and dedicated team at Pattern, where she serves as the Director of Assay Development. She is driven by solving problems that are simultaneously difficult and impactful. She has a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder and a B.A. from Grinnell College in chemistry. After completing her Ph.D. work on singlet and triplet exciton dissociation in organic photovoltaics, she became inspired by technologies emerging at the intersection between photophysics and biology. She was awarded a Director’s Postdoctoral Fellowship by Los Alamos National Laboratory, where she developed novel methods to detect interactions between DNA, RNA, and proteins in complex cellular environments.
